Trenannick Cottages 3 and 4 Star Self Catering Cottages Near Crackington Haven Cornwall

The Roundhouse

  • Sleeps 2+2

  • Is situated at the rear of the other cottages, overlooking a small copse and has its own small garden and parking area. The cottage was converted from the building that once housed the machinery that ground corn etc., and was operated with the help of a horse walking in a circle – hence the name.

    Access Friendly
The conversion has been undertaken for wheelchair use and as such has wide doors and a roll-in shower. The cottage has a twin bedroom (beds can be linked together) with a small double sofa bed in the living room. The living room has a log/coal stove which keeps the cottage warm even in the middle of winter and is furnished with a sofa bed and two armchairs, where you can relax in front of the open fire or watching television.

Next to the living room is the large kitchen/dining room which has a solid oak kitchen with oven, ceramic hob, microwave, refrigerator, washer/dryer and hopefully all the kitchen utensils you could possibly need for your stay. The shower room has the roll-in shower, basin and toilet, with a separate toilet being just off of the hallway.

For a cosy, quiet and relaxed stay, it would be hard to find better value for money than The Roundhouse, which due to its size is the least expensive of our cottages, yet with its Four Stars ETC rating it has received the highest grading. The cottage is recommended for couples, disabled guests, older guests and smaller families who want to get away to a home from home in the country.

We do allow one large or up to two small dogs to stay in this cottage. All breeds are welcome, once they have passed puppy training, but we ask that dogs are not left unattended in the cottage and that they are kept on a lead around the cottage gardens. There is a small copse at the rear of the cottages where your dog can be exercised.

    Beech Cottage
  • Sleeps 6

  • Is the far left of the front cottages and is affectionately known as ‘the upside down house’. The main living/dining room, kitchen and a twin bedroom are all located on the first floor, to take advantage of the rural views, especially through the double French doors which can be opened to let the sunlight and birdsong flood into the living room.

The living room also has an open fire for those cooler evenings and is furnished with comfortable cottage style armchairs and sofa, together with a television. The kitchen has oven, hob, microwave, refrigerator, washer/dryer and hopefully all the kitchen utensils you could possibly need for your stay.

The ground floor has a double bedroom to the front, a further twin bedroom and a shower room with basin and toilet, to the rear. There is a low beam across the hallway and lowish beams throughout the ground floor, which can be the occasional peril to those over 6’.

Beech Cottage is rated as Four Stars by ETC and due to its layout is suitable for couples through to families of up to six people. With the living accommodation being on the first floor it is not suitable for those who have difficulties with stairs, who would be better suited to The Roundhouse, Pond Meadow or Little Leighs.

There is a small private garden with seating to the front of the cottage, where you can sit in the sunshine and enjoy the peace and quiet.

    Ash Cottage
  • Sleeps 4

  • Is the stone fronted cottage to the right of Beech and has a more conventional layout, with a double and a twin bedroom on the first floor and the main living/dining room, kitchen and shower room being on the ground floor. As with all the other cottages, Ash has an open fire in the living room, which keeps the whole cottage very warm no matter what the weather is like outside. The living room is furnished with cottage style armchairs and sofa with the obligatory television. The kitchen has oven, hob, microwave, refrigerator, washer/dryer and hopefully all the kitchen utensils you could possibly need for your stay.

The low beam which runs through Beech hallway continues across the dining area in Ash as do the lowish beams on the ground floor, where the peril level decreases from that of Beech, to those over 6’2”.

Ash Cottage is also rated at the top end of Three Stars by ETC and is suitable for couples through to families of up to four people. There is a small private garden with seating to the front of the cottage, where you can sit in the sunshine and enjoy the peace and quiet. This cottage is one of our two pet free cottages along with Pond Meadow.

The living room also has an open fire for those cooler evenings and is furnished with comfortable cottage style armchairs and sofa, together with a television.
